Music For The Interested

Music. Music is the sound for the soul.

The music I listen to has to work for my ever-changing mood throughout the day. Listening to Young The Giants album Young The Giant makes me feel like my mood can be fulfilled. Music can remind us of memories we either have made or want to make. Music can bring generations together whether it is through similar style of music of favorite bands. My grandfather loved Frank Sinatra, therefore every time I hear The Way You Look Tonight, I picture him dancing around his living room, singing along, loving life. Now I understand that this is only me personally, and that there are more criteria that make this album a good one. Whether an album is good or not has many factors. The style of music and lyrics, the beat and tempo of the songs, and the length of the album are important factors, as well as the attractiveness of the cover and the style to capture a person’s attention. An album isn't just about the songs, it's about everything that goes into it to make it what it turns out to be. Whether it turns out to be popular or not.

When a person thinks of the general term, music, there are a lot of categories that it can fit under. Punk rock, classical, retro, dub-step. One of the reasons people listen to what they listen to is because of the style of music. Young The Giants style has a lot of guitar and drum action as well as being able to hear the lyrics clearly.  It has a sort of mix between pop and indie-rock. The lyrics vary with every song played. I am as much of a Taylor Swift fan as the next crying teenage girl, but I would like a song with the basic idea not being about a boy breaking up with her. I like songs about finding your self, and being strong through hard times. Personally, when I hear any of YTG's songs I think of my own life and relate my memories to songs that most adequately fit my situation. These are the type of songs that make me feel good. A lot of those songs are usually Young The Giant songs.

Beat. I always have the luck of finding a song on the radio that gets my head nodding and foot tapping. Young The Giant is similar to other bands. Grouplove, Two Door Cinema Club, Imagine Dragons, Mumford & Sons, and Foster The People. As I’m writing this, a song came onto my Pandora, Tongue Tied by Grouplove, that got my hips moving from side to side even as I'm sitting down.

Just one of those songs you like to dance to. When music is good enough to get my head bobbing, I listen to it over and over again and find albums that are similar, that way I can continue to have the same experience with many songs rather then only one so I wont get tired of listening to it. All of the previously listed groups have that head-bobbing factor. The tempos of these songs are between medium and fast. Depending on the songs, obviously, they vary. Going back the point of my mood changing, the songs on Young The Giants album as well as the other albums I mentioned have a wind range of tempos and lyrics. The reason people like all of these bands is because there lyrics and beats are worth listening to and help you feel upbeat if you want to be in that mood, or if not, then whatever mood you feel fit.

The length of an album is just as important as all the other factors of an album. Nothing too long to where a song drags on for so long that you feel the need to change it, but not really short where there is only one verse that is played over and over again. The varying amount of songs can have an effect on the person listening to the album as well.

I was in a CD store one time when I was about 13 and there was a blow up of this one CD that had the coolest cover I'd ever seen. It had a ocean on it with ll sorts of drawn on colors to make the lookers eyes attract to certain spots. To this day I have no idea what the album cover was, yet I still remember it like i just saw it. That band did a really good job of attracting my attention to their album. Young The Giants album has a sort of wow factor to it. The different shapes and colors make the viewer follow the lines all the way up to the title of the band. The attractiveness of an album has a lot to do with how well an album does.

Music as I said before is key to feeling and memories. Albums like Young The Giant can really work a person into feeling good. All of the criteria for a good album is shown within YTG's album and is seen since the album is getting more and more well known. I am personally always pleased with what I hear when I'm listening to them and would suggest it to anyone and everyone who is interested in some good music.

Playlist for the admirers of Young The Giant.

As a Young The Giant style music fan, I have created a 5 song playlist for any admirers like myself.

Young The Giant, Imagine Dragons, and Two Door Cinema Club. All three bands have a sort of similar sound to them. With a strong instrumental back round the lyrics are clear enough to sing along, which is personally important to me. Their wording is specific to each song in the sense that not one song is exactly the same as the next. The tone of most of the songs are happy, upbeat, and energetic fulfilling the common 16-25 age bracket.

1. Young The Giant - 12 Fingers
2. Imagine Dragons - Radioactive
3. Two Door Cinema Club - Handshake
4. Imagine Dragons - The Cave
5. Young The Giant - Cough Syrup

Young The Giant Album Young The Giant
I am a very big fan of music. All kinds of music really. Young The Giant album stuck out to me, though, when I heard it. The first time I heard the song, My Body, was when I was with my cousins. It was one of those moments when you hear a song on the radio and need to know the name of it. I have a lot of those moments when i'm on a car ride. I guess i'm saying that if any of this sounds familiar then you should read my blog.

"Life's to short to even care at all." YTG's song Cough Syrup has a burst of energy that gives the listener a sort of ego boost. The beat to this specific song is pumping enough to be used to workout, if something like that floats your boat, or also to just be riding in the car and are in a good mood. A lot of YTG's songs do that to an amused listener and fan.
